Porur flyover nearing completion, bringing cheer to Jeeva Nagar

News is now out that work on the Porur flyover is nearing completion (published by The Hindu here) bringing cheer to residents of several localities West of the junction connecting Mount-Poonamallee Road and Kunrathur/Arcot Roads.

This will enable traffic from Poonamallee and Iyyappanthangal to flow quickly East to Nandambakkam/St.Thomas Mount and in the reverse direction, reducing travel time.

This is the main road that connects Chennai with Sriperumbudur, Ambur, Vaniyambadi, Krishnagiri, Hosur and Bengaluru.

Centre of housing boom

There are about 3,000 apartments being built in the area West of Porur junction involving such big projects as Osian Chlorophyll, Prince Highlands, Prestige Bella Vista, Sterling Ganges, ETA Jasmine Court, Southern Shelters, Audco Nagar and, not the least, Jeeva Nagar. There are numerous other housing developments taking place here, with shopping and services closely following.

Buses and other vehicles going towards Kumananchavadi-Poonamallee on the one side, Mangadu, and Saveetha Dental College, besides the upcoming Aravind Eye Hospital will be able to move without a block at Porur.

We await the early opening of the facility!
